Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 20g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together until pale and fluffy.

  3. Sift the flour into the egg mixture and gently fold until just incorporated.

  4. Gradually pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract, folding gently until combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when lightly pressed.

  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
