Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping.

  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar layer and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.

  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
