How To Make Tunisian Brik Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 brik pastry sheets
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp of harissa paste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the tuna, harissa paste, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the eggs until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny. Season the eggs with salt and pepper.

  3. Lay a brik sheet on a flat surface and place a spoonful of the tuna mixture in the center. Top with an egg. Fold the corners of the brik sheet to form a square and brush the edges with water to seal. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

  4. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the briks until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

  5. Serve hot with a wedge of lemon, if desired.
