  • 8 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed cornflakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, sour cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  4. Add the cooked noodles to the bowl and mix until evenly coated with the mixture. If desired, stir in raisins.

  5. Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle crushed cornflakes on top for added crunch, if desired.

  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until the kugel is set and the top is golden brown.
