How To Make Italian Sausage Spaghetti

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions

Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

Return cooked sausage to the skillet. Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, until flavors meld together and sauce thickens slightly.

Serve the sausage and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
