How To Make Pancit Canton

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pancit canton noodles
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced
  • 1 cup of sliced chicken breast
  • 1 cup of sliced pork belly
  • 1 cup of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup of carrots, julienned
  • 1 cup of green beans, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Calamansi or lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the pancit canton noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant and translucent.

  3. Add the chicken, pork belly, and shrimp to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned and the shrimp turn pink.

  4. Stir in the cabbage, carrots, and green beans. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

  5. Pour in the soy sauce and chicken broth. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Add the cooked pancit canton noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until well mixed and heated through.

  8. Serve hot with calamansi or lemon wedges on the side.
