How To Make Malaysian Prawn Noodles Recipe

A flavorful noodle dish with succulent prawns, in a spicy broth with a touch of sweetness.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh or dried egg noodles
  • 500g of prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp of chili paste
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions, then drain and rinse in cold water.

  2. In a large pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.

  3. Add garlic and onions, sauté for 1-2 minutes.

  4. Add chili paste, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper.

  5. Stir until combined, then add broth.

  6. Let the broth come to a simmer and add the prawns.

  7. Cook until prawns turn pink, around 2-3 minutes.

  8. Divide the noodles into bowls, pour the broth over them and top with prawns, eggs and cilantro.
