How To Make Malaysian Kaya Toast

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 tablespoons of kaya (coconut jam)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Toast bread until golden brown.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread, followed by kaya on the other side.

  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sweetened condensed milk until frothy.

  4. Heat a pan on medium heat and add a pinch of salt.

  5. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides.

  6. Place the bread on the hot pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Serve hot, cut in half or diagonally, with a side of kaya sauce.
