Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.

  2. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent.

  3. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the pot and stir well.

  4. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour.

  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
