How To Make Mrs. Clinton’s Apple Pie Recipe
A classic apple pie recipe from the Clinton family cookbook, sure to please any dessert lover.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 6 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add in chilled butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add in ice water, mixing until dough comes together and is no longer sticky.

Roll out dough on a floured surface and transfer to a 9-inch pie dish.

In a separate bowl, mix together sliced apples, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.

Pour apple mixture into the prepared pie dish and cover with the other half of the rolled-out dough. Use a fork to crimp the edges and poke a few holes in the top for ventilation.

Bake for 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
