How To Make Furr’s Cafeteria’s Fried Okra Recipe
Crispy and flavorful fried okra just like the ones from Furr’s Cafeteria.

Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh okra, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne.

Dip the okra pieces into the milk, then coat them in the cornmeal mixture.

Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the coated okra to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried okra to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
