How To Make Fisherman s Cioppino Recipe
A classic Italian-American seafood stew with a tomato base and plenty of fresh seafood.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (28 oz.)
- 1 bottle of clam juice (8 oz.)
- 1 cup of white wine
- 2 cups of water
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 pound of shrimp, shelled and deveined
- 1/2 pound of scallops
- 1/2 pound of mussels, cleaned
- 1/2 pound of clams, cleaned
- 1/2 pound of firm white fish, cut into chunks
- Fresh parsley, chopped for serving
- Crusty bread for serving
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add onions and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic, oregano and red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.

Add tomatoes, clam juice, white wine, water and salt and pepper to taste.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.

Add shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the seafood is cooked through.

Add the white fish and cook for another 2-3 minutes until it is cooked through.

Serve hot, topped with fresh parsley and with crusty bread on the side.
