Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup beer
- 1/2 cup sweetened coconut flakes
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.

In a separate bowl, combine the cold water and beer.

Gradually add the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.

Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in the sweetened coconut flakes.

In a large skillet, heat 1/4″ of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
