How To Make Bourbon Street Muffuletta
A classic New Orleans sandwich with layers of meat, cheese and olive salad.

Ingredients
- 1 large round sourdough bread loaf
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 lb deli-sliced ham
- 1/4 lb deli-sliced mortadella
- 1/4 lb deli-sliced salami
- 1/4 lb deli-sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 lb deli-sliced Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pimiento-stuffed green olives
- 1/4 cup chopped black olives
- 2 tbsp chopped pickled vegetables (giardiniera)
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Cut the bread loaf in half horizontally and remove some of the inner bread to create a hollow cavity.

Brush the inside of the bread with olive oil.

Layer the ham, mortadella, salami, provolone, and Swiss cheese on the bottom half of the bread.

Mix together the green olives, black olives, giardiniera, red wine vinegar, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.

Spoon the olive salad over the cheese layer.

Close the sandwich with the top half of the bread and press it down lightly.

Wrap the sandwich tightly in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is heated through.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before unwrapping and slicing.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
