How To Make Black Kettle Restaurant’s Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 lb stew beef, cut into small pieces
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup frozen peas
- salt and pepper
Instructions

In a shallow dish, season flour with salt and pepper. Coat beef in flour mixture.

Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown beef on all sides. Remove from pot.

In the same pot, add onion and garlic. Cook until softened.

Add tomato paste, bay leaves, and thyme. Stir to coat.

Add beef broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and add beef back to pot. Cover and let simmer for 1.5 hours.

Add potatoes and carrots. Simmer until tender.

Add in frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
