How To Make Classic Waffles

A perfect breakfast food, classic waffles have a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. Served with butter and syrup, they are a popular choice for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  5. Lightly grease the waffle maker with cooking spray or brush with melted butter.

  6. Using a 1/2 cup measurer, ladle batter onto the waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  7. Serve the waffles hot with butter and syrup.
