How To Make Basic Crepes

These delicate French pancakes are versatile and perfect for sweet or savory fillings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs then add milk and water. Whisk to combine.

  3. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture, whisking until the batter is smooth.

  4. Stir in melted butter.

  5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Using a measuring cup, pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the center of the pan and swirl to spread evenly.

  6. Cook crepes for about 2 minutes, until the edges start to lift and the bottom is light golden brown.

  7. Using a spatula, flip the crepe over and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  8. Remove crepe from pan and repeat until all batter is used up.
