Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 oz active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

  2. Heat the milk until warm and add it to the flour mixture.

  3. Mix well until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  7. Cover again and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  9. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter.

  10. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  11. Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
