Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup of mixed fresh fruits (such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed fresh fruits, sugar, and cornstarch. Toss until well coated.

  4. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface.

  5. Spread the fruit mixture evenly along the center of the puff pastry.

  6. Cut even diagonal strips along both sides of the filling, leaving about an inch of space in between each strip.

  7. Take one strip from the left side and fold it over the filling, slightly overlapping it. Then, take one strip from the right side and fold it over the filling, overlapping the previous strip. Repeat this braiding process until you reach the end of the pastry.

  8. Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the fruits are tender.

  10. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
