Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt and warm water until smooth.
-
Gradually add the yogurt mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add more warm water, a tablespoon at a time.
-
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
-
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
-
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with vegetable oil.
-
Roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle, approximately 6 inches in diameter.
-
Cook the flatbread in the skillet for about 2 minutes on each side, until it puffs up and develops golden brown spots.
-
Remove from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining dough.
-
Serve the flatbreads warm with your favorite dips or curries.
