Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 sirloin steaks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over high heat and sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer to a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to desired doneness.

  3. Meanwhile, roll out the puff pastry and cut into small squares or circles. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. In the same skillet used for the steaks, sauté the mushrooms until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  5. Spoon a small amount of mushrooms onto each puff pastry square or circle. Top with shredded Gruyere cheese.

  6. Bake the puff pastry tartlets in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Remove the steaks from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  8. Serve the sliced steak with the mushroom puff tartlets. Garnish with chopped parsley.
