Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt to make the dry rub.

  3. Rub the dry rub all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  4. Place the brisket in a roasting pan or Dutch oven and pour the barbecue sauce and beef broth over it.

  5. Cover tightly with foil or a lid and cook in the preheated oven for 6 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.

  6. Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before shredding the meat using two forks.

  7. Serve the pulled firecracker brisket on buns or alongside your favorite side dishes.
