How To Make Chilli Beef Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Remove excess fat.

Add onions, carrots, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Stir in chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 15 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer the beef mixture into a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes evenly on top.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
