How To Make Beef Chuck Pot Pie Recipe
A hearty and comforting pot pie filled with tender chunks of beef, vegetables, and flavorful gravy.

Ingredients
- 1 lb beef chuck, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper, and thyme. Add beef and toss to coat.

Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove beef from pot and set aside. Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery to the pot and cook until vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.

Add beef broth and red wine to the pot and stir to combine. Return beef to the pot and bring to a simmer.

Cover and transfer to the oven, cooking for 2-2.5 hours, until beef is tender.

Add frozen peas to the pot and stir to combine.

Increase oven temperature to 400°F.

Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4 circles to fit the top of each individual ramekin or a large pie dish.

Ladle beef mixture into ramekins or pie dish and top with puff pastry circle. Brush egg wash over pastry.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until pastry is golden brown.
