Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 beetroot slices
  • 4 pineapple rings
  • 4 bacon strips
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tomato sauce (ketchup) for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.

  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 portions and shape them into patties. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.

  4. While the patties are cooking, fry the bacon strips until crispy and set aside.

  5. In a separate pan, cook the eggs to your desired level of doneness.

  6. Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill.

  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf, beef patty, cheese slice, tomato slice, beetroot slice, pineapple ring, bacon strip, and fried egg on the bottom half of each bun.

  8. Top with tomato sauce and close the bun.

  9. Serve the Aussie burgers immediately and enjoy!
