How To Make Cornbread Waffles

A savory twist on regular waffles, these cornbread waffles are crispy, fluffy, and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cornmeal
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  5. Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray and pour batter in. Cook according to waffle iron’s instructions.

  6. Serve with butter and syrup.
