Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp green food coloring
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth.

  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.

  6. Stir in the green food coloring until well combined.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.

  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
