Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a loaf pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat together milk, oil, egg, and almond extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  4. Fold in the dried cherries and sliced almonds.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
