Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Cream butter and brown sugar.

  3. Mix in molasses and egg.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.

  5. Mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until well combined.

  6. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on greased baking sheet.

  7. Flatten cookies slightly with a fork.

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.

  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
