How To Make Cheesy Ham & Broccoli Pasta

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of penne pasta
  • 1 cup of cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups of broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced ham and cook until lightly browned.

  3. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and sauté until tender.

  4. Push the ham and broccoli to one side of the skillet and add the flour to the other side. Stir the flour into the butter to form a roux.

  5. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it in the cheesy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Serve the cheesy ham & broccoli pasta hot and enjoy!
