Ingredients

  • 4 baby gem lettuce heads
  • 2 cups of watercress
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. Slice the baby gem lettuce heads in half lengthwise and brush with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Grill the lettuce halves for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until charred and slightly wilted. Remove from heat and set aside.

  4. In a separate pan, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble.

  5. In a large bowl, combine the grilled lettuce, watercress, and bacon. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and toss gently to combine.

  6. Serve the salad immediately as a side dish or main course.
