How To Make Fish and Saffron Chowder Recipe

A creamy and flavorful chowder made with fresh fish and aromatic saffron threads.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 2 cups of fish stock
  • 1 pinch of saffron threads
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 lb of white fish fillets, cubed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion and celery, and sauté until softened.

  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

  4. Gradually stir in the fish stock and add the saffron threads.

  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Add the heavy cream and fish, and simmer for another 10 minutes.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
