Ingredients

  • 12 oz. canned clams, drained and liquid reserved
  • 6 oz. smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until softened.

  2. Add sausage and continue cooking until lightly browned.

  3. Add potatoes, thyme, and reserved clam juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.

  4. Add clams, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Simmer for another 10 minutes until heated through.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
