How To Make Smoked Trout Fish Pies

Ingredients
- 1 sheet of thawed puff pastry
- 200g smoked trout, flaked
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

Add the smoked trout flakes and cook for another 2 minutes.

Stir in the cream cheese and lemon juice until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.

Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 4 equal-sized squares.

Place a spoonful of the smoked trout mixture onto each square, leaving a border.

Fold over the pastry to form triangles and seal the edges with a fork.

Brush the tops of the pies with beaten egg for a shiny golden crust.

Place the pies on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
