How To Make Mussel Popcorn Subs

Ingredients
- 1 pound mussels, cleaned
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 4 sub rolls
- Lettuce and tomato slices, for serving
- Tartar sauce, for serving
Instructions

In a shallow dish, combine flour, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Dip each mussel into the flour mixture, coating thoroughly.

Carefully drop the coated mussels into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Split the sub rolls and lightly toast them.

Spread tartar sauce on the bottom half of each roll. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and the fried mussels.
