How To Make Sicilian-style Pesto Pasta
There’s a reason why pasta is a popular favorite. It’s such a multi-purpose dish that can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways. With so many pasta ideas to choose from, your biggest challenge will be deciding on which pasta recipes to go for!

Ingredients
- 12 ounces of spaghetti
- 2 cups of fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup of pine nuts
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
- 1/4 cup of sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/4 cup of crumbled feta cheese (optional)
Instructions

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a food processor or blender, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the pesto sauce and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the pesto sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.

If desired, add the sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, and feta cheese to the skillet. Toss gently to combine.

Serve the Sicilian-style pesto pasta hot, garnished with some extra grated Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of fresh basil leaves.
