How To Make Deep-Fried Hot Wings and Drumettes

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings and drumettes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Hot sauce, for serving
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving
  • Celery sticks, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.

  2. Pat the chicken wings and drumettes dry with paper towels.

  3. Toss the chicken in the flour mixture until well coated.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

  5. Working in batches, carefully add the chicken to the hot oil and fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove the chicken from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Serve the hot wings and drumettes with hot sauce, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and celery sticks.
