How To Make Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

  4. Stir in the frozen peas, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Transfer the meat mixture to a greased 9×9 inch baking dish.

  6. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbly.

  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
