Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the macaroni according to package instructions and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease.

  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked macaroni, followed by half of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers.

  5. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
