How To Make Johnny’s Caramel Sundae

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or walnuts)
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and mixture turns amber in color.

  2. Carefully whisk in heavy cream, salt, and vanilla. Cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the caramel sauce thickens.

  3. Scoop ice cream into 4 bowls. Drizzle caramel sauce over each bowl and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

  4. Top with whipped cream and serve immediately.
