How To Make Celeriac Dauphinoise

Ingredients

  • 1 large celeriac, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and minced garlic over medium heat until warm.

  3. Layer half of the sliced celeriac in a greased baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Pour half of the warm cream mixture over the celeriac. Sprinkle half of the grated Gruyere cheese on top.

  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining celeriac, cream mixture, and Gruyere cheese.

  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the celeriac is tender and the top is golden brown.

  7. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
