How To Make Raggmunk
Raggmunk is a traditional Swedish dish made with grated potatoes and flour, fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
-
Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess liquid.
-
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chopped onion, flour, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined.
-
Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
-
Take a handful of the potato mixture and flatten it in your hand to form a pancake. Carefully place it in the hot oil, repeating with more of the mixture (you may need to fry in batches depending on the size of your pan).
-
Fry each pancake for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
-
Serve the Raggmunk pancakes hot, with lingonberry jam or sour cream on the side.
