How To Make Mustard Pickle
A tangy and flavorful homemade pickle made using mustard seeds and vegetables.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow mustard seeds
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup diced cucumbers
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced onions
Instructions

In a bowl, soak mustard seeds in water for 2 hours.

Drain the water and grind mustard seeds to make a smooth paste.

In a pan, heat vinegar, turmeric powder, sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper until it comes to a boil.

Add the ground mustard paste to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.

Remove from heat and let the pickle mixture cool down.

In a separate bowl, combine diced cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, and onions.

Pour the cooled pickle mixture over the vegetables and mix well.

Transfer the mustard pickle into sterilized jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
