  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, ginger, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, golden syrup, and vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.

  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
