How To Make Falafel Burgers

These falafel burgers are a delicious vegetarian option with crispy falafel patties, fresh toppings, and a creamy tahini sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • For serving:
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Tahini sauce

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried chickpeas in water overnight. Drain and rinse.

  2. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Pulse until well blended, but still slightly chunky.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour. Shape into 4 patties.

  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the falafel patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, until crisp and golden brown.

  5. Toast the burger buns and assemble the burgers with the falafel patties, lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, and tahini sauce.

  6. Serve the falafel burgers immediately and enjoy!
