These delicious cookies are perfect for Halloween with spooky shapes and fun decorations.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Assorted Halloween-themed sprinkles and decorations

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  7. Roll out one disk of dough on a lightly floured surface to ¼ inch thickness.

  8. Use Halloween-themed cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough and transfer them to the prepared baking sheets.

  9. Decorate the cookies with the sprinkles and decorations.

  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
