How To Make Damson Crumble
A delicious and tangy dessert made with fresh damson plums and a buttery crumble topping.

Ingredients
- 500g damson plums, pitted and halved
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, diced
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the damson plums, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the plums evenly.

Transfer the plum mixture to a 9-inch baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.

Add the diced cold butter to the flour mixture and use your fingers to rub it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the damson plums in the baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden brown and the plums are bubbling.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serve the damson crumble warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
