- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
-
Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a triangle shape.
-
Place a teaspoon of softened butter at the wide end of the triangle and roll it up tightly towards the point.
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Brush each croissant with beaten egg and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Serve the croissants warm and enjoy!
