  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, milk, egg, and melted butter.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Scoop 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake.

  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until the pancakes are cooked through.

  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, maple syrup, or fresh berries.
