How To Make Apple Cider Snickerdoodles

Soft and chewy snickerdoodles infused with the warm spice of apple cider.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add in the egg, apple cider, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.

  6. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining granulated sugar and cinnamon for the rolling mixture.

  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  8. Place the dough balls onto a lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.

  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
